RIE®-Inspired Parent-Infant Classes:

Classes are organized by stage of development – non-mobile infants, mobile babies and toddlers. Classes are monthly and families are welcome to join anytime there is space available. Limiting each class to 5 children creates a peaceful, relaxing venue to ask and answer questions. Each class includes sensitive observation of babies, uninterrupted play time then questions and discussion.

RIE encourages basic trust in the child to be an initiator, an explorer and a self-learner. RIE provides an environment for the child that is physically safe, cognitively challenging and emotionally nurturing. Your child will have time for uninterrupted play and you will develop the art of sensitive observation. You will read your baby's cues, learn when to intervene and, most importantly, when not to.

Topics and discussion include:

  • Age-appropriate expectations

  • The role of play in school readiness

  • Balancing your child’s and your family’s needs

  • Care giving routines

  • Establishing clear, consistent, and appropriate limits

Classes are lead by Audrey Rowland, a RIE© trained early childhood professional.

If you are unsure of which class is the best fit for your family, or if you have any questions, please let us know!
